Eat the Frog with Pomodoro:

The Pomodoro Technique is a time management. The technique uses a timer to break down work into intervals, traditionally 25 minutes in length, separated by short breaks.

I tried it while doing my online course which was very lengthy and I thought it needed a lot of time to complete.

1- I divided the course in short parts, assigned each part time of 25 minutes in which i expected to complete it.

2- I set a timer for 25 minutes on my cell phone and started completing the course.

3- I got distracted by many things like whats app notifications, family noice and over thinking.

4- But, what i simply did is to just write down these distractions on a paper and returned to my course shortly.

5- When the timer rang after 25 minutes, i was about to complete my assigned part. I stopped working, marked a tick on a page and took a break for 5 minutes.

6- Then, I set another timer for 25 minutes and started working again. After the ring, I took another break.

7- I repeated this technique for 4 times by keeping marking ticks on the page.

8- After 4th turn, I took a long break for 30 minutes.

9- Then, again using this technique started completing my work.

10- I completed my course in a short time which was unexpected for me.

Feedback:

I found this technique very interesting. I was thinking that I have to spend a lot of time on my course. But by this technique, I found I am doing very well. Assigning task to be completed in short time gives another level of motivation.

It can be used to do any work either your project, assignment or cleaning your room. Short breaks after 25 to 30 minutes relax your brain and body and rewarding yourself with chocolate or coffee will give you energy to work more.

A factor is also important to be considered. There would be a lot of distractions around you like your whats app or Instagram notifications will ring and you are curious to know what is in it. But, here is the beauty of this technique that you have to control yourself and not get distracted by anything. You can write these factors on your notepad to analyze the things which causes hindrance in your work and can eliminate these next time.
